Murrumburrah High School has long held a strong reputation for agricultural excellence. Opportunities exist for all students to be involved in the MHS Farm Club, an extra-curricular activity based around the school farm and managing and preparing animals for the different local and national shows.
Farm Club works on a system where older students mentor younger students in the craft of showmanship. In this way, students are given a group to belong to and gain a sense of achievement in skills that they develop along the way. The Farm Club also teaches students about dress codes, public speaking, responsibility and community service. The Farm Club is managed by the students under the guidance of their teacher. A uniform pool and excursion subsidies are organised through fundraising and community service in the local area.
Murrumburrah Farm Club students have a strong show presence both local and state wide, such as preparing and exhibiting the Victor Chang charity steer at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. In 2017 the charity steer was auctioned and raised $25,000 with funds raised going to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.
