Year 10 Day

Year 10 Day

On Tuesday 6th August, all Year 10 students participated in a day which focused on increasing their motivation and accountability during their schooling and also encouraging them to seek op-portunities after school.

Robert Rutledge, (Branch Manager ACT & Southern NSW Region - ENGIE Services Australia) and Warren Mirtschin, (Area Sales Manager – Agriculture NSW with GRAYMONT), presented a fantas-tic talk with to students. Year 10 were pushed out of their comfort zone, put on the spot and made to really think about who they are as a person and how they can achieve to their full poten-tial in life.

The students were then given information about the various Stage 6 courses that are on offer at Murrumburrah High School. Students were able to ask teachers questions about different subject areas as well as HSC and ATAR requirements.

The students participated well throughout the whole day and each and every one of them walked away with some valuable life lessons. Below are a few of their comments about the day and the main message they received.

“The main message I received from the session was to always show people respect” – Hayley Ches-worth

“Stick to your work. Take up every opportunity. Always have a plan.” – Riley Arabin

When asked what they could personally do to improve their future success in school, we had re-sponses such as;

“Apply myself and manage disruptions” – Jordan Phelan

“Keep my head down and get in and do the hard yards” – Elden Rowan

“Ask more questions, study more and find a back-up plan” – Grace Shorrock

I hope Year 10 take these important lessons with them through the rest of their schooling and into the future.
