"Being in Year 10 at Murrumburrah High School has given me so many opportunities. There’s a great range of electives to choose from, and the distance education program means we can study subjects that aren’t always offered at smaller schools. The teachers know us personally, which makes it easy to ask for help and stay on track. I’ve really enjoyed being involved in sport, fitness sessions, and the driver training program. The school also runs things like Breakfast Club and afternoon study sessions, which really help with staying focused and supported. It’s a school that genuinely cares about us and our futures." - Year 10 Student at Murrumburrah High School
"Starting Year 7 at Murrumburrah High School was a big change, but the transition program and peer support really helped me settle in and feel more confident. The teachers are really nice and get to know us, and I like that we move around to different classrooms for each subject—it makes every day interesting. Breakfast Club is a great way to start the morning, and there are fun things like sport and fitness sessions too. I’ve made lots of friends and I feel like I really fit in here." Murrumburrah High School – Champion School Success!
Murrumburrah High School has achieved outstanding results at both the Cootamundra and Illabo Shows!
Our students showcased their dedication, skill, and passion for agriculture — a true reflection of the strength of our school’s Agriculture program and the teamwork behind it.
At the Illabo Show, Murrumburrah High was awarded the Champion Carcase of the Show — a remarkable achievement considering this competition is run by the Royal Agricultural Society and is open to all commercial producers, not just schools.
At the Cootamundra Show, MHS was proudly named Champion School, standing out against strong competition from private, agricultural, and local government schools.
These incredible results highlight the talent, commitment, and agricultural excellence of our students and staff. Congratulations to everyone involved — you’ve done our school and community proud!
Book Week
Our school community came together to celebrate Book Week with a love of reading, creativity, and imagination. Students enjoyed dressing up as their favorite characters, sharing stories, and joining in activities that connected families, teachers, and friends through the joy of books.

ACT Brumbies Rugby 7s Gala Day
What a day for our Year 7/8 boys! Yesterday, they absolutely smashed it at the ACT Brumbies Rugby 7s Gala Day, securing an incredible 3rd place out of 11 teams! That's an outstanding effort.
Huge congratulations to all the boys for their teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship. You did us proud! Well done, boys!!!
"As a parent of both a Year 7 and a Year 10 student at Murrumburrah High School, I’ve been truly impressed by the support and care shown across all year levels. Starting high school can be a big transition, but the way the staff welcomed and guided my Year 7 child gave us real peace of mind. At the same time, my Year 10 child is being challenged and encouraged to plan for their future, with access to great opportunities and dedicated teachers. It’s a school that genuinely supports every stage of the journey." Murrumburrah High parent.
